RedScreen® respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.

1. What Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

  • First name and surname

  • Email address

  • Home station selection

  • Profile photo

  • Account creation date

As a taxi driver, we also collect:

  • Your car registration

  • A photo of your Drivers Badge

When you use the app, we may also collect:

  • Chat messages you post

  • Quiet Time preferences

  • Device notification token (for push notifications)

  • Basic technical logs required for security and functionality

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

  • Create and manage your account

  • Authenticate your login

  • Deliver station-based chat functionality

  • Send notifications you have opted to receive

  • Review reports and enforce community standards

  • Respond to support enquiries

RedScreen® does not sell personal data and does not use personal information for advertising.

3. Local Storage

RedScreen stores a limited copy of your profile information on your device to:

  • Keep you signed in

  • Load the correct screens

  • Maintain essential app functionality

This storage is required for the app to operate and is not used for tracking or marketing.

4. Cloud Storage (Firebase)

Profile data, chat content, and related information are stored securely using Google Firebase, which acts as our data processor.

Firebase provides security controls and contractual safeguards that we rely upon for data processing.

Access to profile and chat data is restricted to authenticated users within the appropriate station grouping.

5. Profile Photos

Profile photos are stored securely and are visible only within the RedScreen® platform. Other authenticated users within the same chat groups can request your profile photo, but can only view the same with your express consent. 

Photos are not publicly searchable.

6. Push Notifications

We store a device token in order to deliver push notifications relating to chat activity and platform updates.

You may disable notifications at any time via your device settings.

7. Email Communications

We may contact you via your registered email address for administrative purposes only, including:

  • Account verification

  • Password recovery

  • Responses to problem reports

  • Warning notices or compliance communications

Your email address will not be used for marketing without your explicit consent.

8. Moderation & Enforcement

Where users breach community standards, RedScreen® may restrict access, remove content, or delete accounts.

Certain limited records may be retained where necessary for compliance or legal purposes.

9. Data Retention

Chat messages may be automatically deleted after a limited retention period (typically fourteen days).

Profile information is retained while your account remains active.

If you delete your account, your profile data will be removed, subject to limited retention where legally required.

10. International Transfers

Firebase infrastructure may process or store data outside the United Kingdom.

Where this occurs, appropriate contractual safeguards are in place in accordance with UK data protection requirements.

11. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Restrict or object to certain processing

You may edit your profile at any time within the app.

12. Changes to This Policy

RedScreen® may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational, legal, or technical changes.

Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.


RedScreen® is operated by Timothy Simpson-Lee (England & Wales) and acts as the data controller for the purposes of UK data protection law.
